Keizer is where our weekly care routes are densest, which is the main reason we can hold a set day for every street. Your crew lead knows your lawn, and you know when we're coming.
Keizer lawns are mostly big, flat and in full sun. That's a mower's dream for stripes and a challenge in August. Here's how we look after them:
Mowing height follows the season. We mow lower in spring when the grass is growing hard, and raise the deck in July and August so the blades shade the soil. On a sunny Keizer lot that one change makes the difference between green and straw in late summer.
Sharp blades, every week. Flat lawns show tearing from a dull blade as a white haze a day later. We swap blades on a schedule, not when someone notices.
We watch the water. Many Keizer systems were laid out decades ago. If a zone is soaking the sidewalk or leaving a dry crescent in the middle of the lawn, we flag it on the visit and can fix it the same week.
Feeding and aeration on the valley calendar. Light spring feeding, a fall feeding, and core aeration with overseeding in September. Lighter river-bottom soils near the Willamette need feeding a little more often than clay lawns across town.
At the pergola garden in Keizer we mow weekly, feed twice a year and keep the bed edges crisp, which is why the stripes line up with the borders every week.
